Rare (and expensive) LEGO Spider-Man minifigure rumoured to return in 2027

Next year’s LEGO Marvel line-up is rumoured to feature the return of a Spider-Man minifigure who only appeared in one set 10 years ago – and is pretty expensive now as a result.

67002 Scarlet Spider Mech is one of several enticing LEGO Spider-Man sets on the cards for 2027, and for most of us that’s entirely thanks to the character mentioned in the set name. We’ve all got enough superhero mechs by now, but by and large the LEGO Marvel team is finally using them as a vehicle to deliver rare and interesting minifigures.

In 2026 that was with a comic-accurate Spider-Man 2099, revisiting a minifigure last seen in 2019’s 76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler (although the character most recently appeared in 2025’s 71050 Across the Spider-Verse Minifigures series). In 2025 it was a cheaper way to acquire Anti-Venom. And in 2027 a mech will apparently bring us Scarlet Spider for the first time since 2016.

In the Marvel Comics universe, Scarlet Spider is the alias of Peter Parker clones Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker (among others), and his classic comic book appearance – complete with a blue hood – debuted in 2016’s 76057 Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle. That’s the one and only time he’s appeared as a LEGO minifigure so far, however.

That means his aftermarket price is relatively high, as you’d expect, starting at around £42 on BrickLink. We don’t have a price tag for 67002 Scarlet Spider Mech yet, but at 146 pieces it’s likely to be much cheaper than the asking price of the current minifigure – so if you’ve been angling picking it up, you’re probably better off waiting six months to see if this rumoured new version will suffice.

The LEGO Marvel team has done a pretty good job lately of returning to its extensive back catalogue of Spider-people, bringing back the rarer and more expensive variants to join a continuously growing roster. And while the main man himself still shows up plenty enough, there’s enough variety across the entire theme that you won’t just end up with an army of regular Spider-Men and nothing else besides.

If the rumoured LEGO Marvel 2027 line-up pans out as expected, that trend will continue in January with (at least) 67002 Scarlet Spider Mech. Other Spider-Man sets also believed to be arriving next year include 67001 Spider-Man vs Demogoblin, 67004 Spider-Man vs Green Goblin and 67022 Spider-Man Buildable Logo, and there’s plenty of potential for new Spidey variants across those too.

Check out the table below for the current LEGO Marvel 2027 slate as things stand, but remember to take these details with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group. That’s probably months away yet…
